CHRISTMAS IN SWEDEN

Once again Christmas is closing in on us. In Sweden, which is usually dark, cold and gloomy this time of year, we really appreciate the lights and warmth that Christmas brings.

I always celebrate with my family (mother, step-father, three brothers and one sister; and their families; and my husband & daughter). As we have grown older and gotten families of our own, it´s sometimes difficult to bring all together, but we try! Mostly we´ve been at my mother´s home, but occasionally somewhere else. That´s not so important, as long as we are together and we all can fit around a table.

To me Christmas is lots of candles, decorations, meeting the family, good food and drinking glögg. Getting some days off work is of course a plus! And I don´t mind some nice TV as well. I´ve also always enjoyed the gifts, both giving and receiving. It´s a challenge to find something perfect to give away.
