DOLPHINS
The beautiful dolphin seems to be created for speeding
through the water - and it does! It has a streamlined body, perfect for
this purpose and is very beautiful to look at - therefor, and for it´s
high intelligence and learning capability, also a very popular captive
in zoos.
The dolphin breathes air every time it breaks the
surface. It can see and hear very well and communicates with its group,
usually five or more members.
The bond between mother and calf is very strong
and they usually stay in touch for their entire lives. These bonds can
also be made between other dolphins.
It reads the area around it by echolocation, producing
clicks or other sound waves. The communication is also made by clicks and
other sounds. It´s generally considered that dolphins actually talk
to each other, being of such high intelligence, perhaps even more intelligent
than humans.
So, of course, we wish to see these creature, as
well as all others, in the wild and free and not held captive for our amusement.
These are photos of a dolphin lover´s baby daughter swimming
with dolphins in Australia.
Thanks Jean for getting me the photo!
